line break tag in mozilla firebird

Hi,

Mozilla Firebird doesn't seem to render the </br> tag. I know that break is an empty tag, and it can theoretically be written as <br>, but the W3C recommends using the </br> variant (the last time I read it). Firebird renders <br> fine. Does anyone have any experience with this? Which is better to use? I can only test in Firebird and Konqueror at the moment.

Thanks in advance.
