Limiting rsync bandwidth by time of day?
I have an rsync daemon running and I sync files between sites via openvpn. Sometimes we need the sync done during the day other times the night is fine.
During the day if we go full speed the VoIP at the site suffers so I typically throttle the sync 50%. In the middle of the night it's ok to go 100% speed.
The second piece of this puzzle is sometimes I rsync over the local intranet which can always go 100% speed, as it's a 1Gbit connection rather than the 10Mbit connection via the internet/VPN.
Is there a way I can automatically control the bandwidth usage like this for time of day and only for specific subnets?
