Hi, I've got an Acer travelmate 527TXV Here are the specsand I'm having trouble with my soundcard. I can't get it to play music via Amarok or other media players. In YaST I checked the "sound" panel and it shows my soundcard. When I test the card in the "other" menu, it plays the sound without any problem. Why can't all the media players (and SuperTux )play sounds? First I figured it was de media because it does play .wav files in the KDE command screen, but why doesn't SuperTux work? So if anyone got the solution I'd be very glad to hear it.

I forgot to tell I am running SuSE 10.0

and some more specs:
The soundcard is recognised as "M5451 PCI AC-link Controller Audio Device"
The driver used is: snd-ali5451.

The same soundcard worked fine with mandrivia before

I started kmix and it tells me: mixer cannot be found.

The cause is probably because a sound server is blocking
supertux from playing. Supertux uses alsa directly. try to type
artsdsp supertux, or suspend arts (artscontrol) to play supertux

For the other application, make them arts aware where possible
