While playing with runlevels and x, i rebooted and instead of x I got a console login in vga normal mode, made some changes to lilo.conf and ran lilo.
Lilo stuck after adding the last kernel in the .conf file. (Something called dialog -- an error message was also running should have killed it first)
I tried killing lilo and it wont die. Ps lists it with a "D" flag which according to the ps man page is "uninterruptable sleep".
The research Ive done so far says that a program will sometimes go into uninterruptable sleep if its trying and failing to access a remote file system, the remote file system in this case is the MBR of my machine.
I tried kill -9 no dice.
Anyway to kill this thing?
HELLLLLLPPPPPP!
Im afraid to reboot this computer
