LILO problem
Hello...
I want to install Linux in a Compact flash and boot it using LILO. We are using Hard Hat Linux JourneyMan edition 2.0: in that distribution,we have a 'lilo' command but a boot.b file is not provided. We have try to copy a boot.b from other distrubution (red hat) to compact flash and run lilo, but 'Map segment too big'. Any ideas? Is any file in Hard Hat linux similar to boot.b? How can I install lilo using Hard Hat? We have tried to install a new lilo version in compact flash but it is not possible due to space problems. Thanks in advance, Fernando. |
The boot.b file is the bootsector that is created by lilo. So you can't just copy it from another system. What you need to do is make sure your lilo.conf file is properly configured and then run lilo. It will create the boot.b file which will be used to boot from.
