lilo message - how to make a picture (not ASCII art)?
When redhat boot lilo there appears that nice pritty piccy of redhat.
that is called using the 'message' feature in lilo. when i open /boot/message its all in a jumble i.e its obviously compiled data: [justin@bingo boot]$ file message message: data anyone know how they do this? is there an app to use to turn a piccy into a message file like there is for the penguin logo at kernel boot (FYI: its called glogo btw and its a plugin for GIMP)? thanks |
cp /boot/message ~/tmp/message.pcx then open it.

Ahh! Bonus. I take it that Mandy use the same kind of piggery-jokery for their lilo startup?

FYI anyone else: the picture has to be 320x200 256colours. |
