Question Lilo got frozen !


hello every body
lilo wont start at start up , i ve tried this 2 ways :
linear
lba32
noway , both freeze !
at start up nothing happen it just display "L" and stay like that !
what to do please

The L means it loaded the first stage correctly but can't find the second stage.

Try reinstalling it, it Probably has the disk geometry out or something.

i did twice , no way
well here i wanna back to grub ! but dont know how !

This may mean that lilo.conf isn't set properly.



On Grub:
Which Distro?

OR

If you have grub installed and it was working, try
su
#enter your root password
grub
#wait why it does bios stuff
root (hdx, x)
setup (hd0)
quit

(Replace X with the /boot partitions position say hda1 is (hd0, 0))

i have fixed the problem :
it was the IDE order the disk was slave (hdb) once i put it as master both lilo and grub are workin proprely
