I created two partitions on my hard drive using FDISK and installed Redhat Linux 6.2 on one, and then installed Window 98 on the other partition. However, when I boot up the machine LILO does not give the option to boot to Windows 98.
I know that there is no way that LILO should know that Windows 98 is there, but I was wondering if there was a way to use my Linux Boot Disk and have Windows 98 booted by default.
did you check your lilo.conf file to see if it properly configured it there, pointing it to the correct image.
post your lilo.conf file here if ya want, or try adding these lines in there if you don't see anything like this.....
other = /dev/hda1
table = /dev/hda
label = dos
# the hda1 is in consideration that windows is on the first partition of your hardrive, might be different in your case.
I don't know if there is anyway to boot into win98 from a linux rescue disk, unless you created it to boot from and lilo is loading from it.
yeah, if you install win98 first, then linux, during the install you should see a option of when your installing the lilo of what you want to use as your default boot. there you should see your hda1 or something like that labeled dos, you can select it to boot to dos as your default OS.
