lighttpd, apache, cpanel issue.

The server was running lighttpd, now it is running cpanel, with cpanel came apache, the problem is that I have custom code setup in the lighttpd.conf file that -needs- to be used, is there a way to set cpanel to use lighttpd instead of apache?

Also I've tried shutting apache down and loading lighttpd, and now it refuses to resolve when I enter the IP into browser. It's possible this is a dns issue I suppose, but it doesn't happen when apache is loaded...?

If nothing else is there a way to stop apache and load lighttpd temporarily? Other than the way I tried which apparently does not work.
