Light weight word processing package

Hi folks,

I'm now installing BLFS 6.1 and searching for a light-weight word processing package which can read and edit M$ .doc documents. OOo will be too heavy taking long time to load and occupying huge space.

Any recommendation. TIA

You could try AbiWord.

FL writer is also very lightweight, it is in DSL.

I understand Oo beta 2.0 is supposed to be alot faster than
previous versions. Don't know about the space usage.

Noted with thanks.

Do you know "wps" on DSL. I failed to find in on Internet. What is its full name. Whether it is only on DSL package.

TIA
