libvga.so.1....anyone know where i can find it

i'm attempting to install a sound analyzer on my linux workstation. however i'm getting two failed dependencies:

svgalib and libvga.so.1

i then attmepted to install svgalib, but it needs libvga.so.1. rpmseek doesn't have libvga.so.1. does anyone know where i can get it.....thanks for any help

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/a...lib-1.2.tar.gz

That should do it for you.

now do you think that i'm going to need something else installed in order to install that or what.....because i mean that's pretty much been the problem......i need something to install something, which in turn need something else to install something else. it's like a never ending process.

i've installed that library by these commands:

./configure
make
make install

everything seemed to go smoothly and i didn't see any errors of any sort. however, once again after trying to install svgalib i'm getting the "failed dependencies" saying it needs the libvga.so.1 library. i tried typing:

locate libvga.so.1 and i found nothing.

what do you suggest.
