libstdc++ versioning

Hello all,

Our company purchased a software from a vendor which requires libstdc++.so.6 and libstdc++.so.4. We have GCC 3.4 (which includes libstdc++.so.6) on our system but libstdc++.so.4 is not available.

Where can I get libstdc++.so.4? What about others (like libstdc++.so.3, ...)?

Thanks,

vani

What distro are you using?

We have 2 installations: Redhat 7.2 and Solaris 2.8.

Well, you are using a really old Linux distro, so you will have problems getting packages for it. Try rpm.pbone.net. You may also think of upgrading you Linux installation to something newer that still recieves updates.

Thanks, Reddazz.

The problem was that different groups at the vendor were using different versions of GCC.

Instead of installing multiple version of libstdc++, we have decided to ask the vendor to compile their stuff using a single GCC and that fixed it.

Sorry for not replying earlier.
