libstdc++.so.6.0.8 - CentOS

Hello,

I am running CentOS 4.4 and need to update from libstdc++.so.6.0.3 to libstdc++.so.6.0.8 due to this error message: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.5' not found

On my CentOS 4.4 system:

# strings /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.3 | grep GLIB
GLIBCXX_3.4
GLIBCXX_3.4.1
GLIBCXX_3.4.2
GLIBCXX_3.4.3
GLIBC_2.1.3
GLIBC_2.2
GLIBC_2.3
GLIBC_2.0
GLIBC_2.1
GLIBCXX_FORCE_NEW

On an Ubuntu 7 system that has 6.0.8

# strings /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.8 | grep GLIB
GLIBCXX_3.4
GLIBCXX_3.4.1
GLIBCXX_3.4.2
GLIBCXX_3.4.3
GLIBCXX_3.4.4
GLIBCXX_3.4.5
GLIBCXX_3.4.6
GLIBCXX_3.4.7
GLIBCXX_3.4.8
GLIBC_2.3
GLIBC_2.0
GLIBC_2.4
GLIBC_2.1
GLIBC_2.1.3
GLIBC_2.2
GLIBCXX_FORCE_NEW

6.0.8 has the missing GLIBCXX_3.4.5 - Where can I find it for CentOS? I did a yum update libstdc++ but did not find anything.

Thanks in advance.

Patrick

Hello Patrick
It seems you must upgrade to CentOS 5.0 which has a libstdc++-4.1.1-52.el5 package containing the library you need.
I found that using http://rpm.pbone.net/ and restricting the search to CentOS.
I don't know if you can install that package in CentOS 4.4
Bye.

Thanks for the reply... I was afraid of that. I am running a production email server with over 500 mailboxes on this CentOS 4.4 server. I've read that some people have ran into problems after upgrading. I can't risk it. I guess I will live with this error!

Thanks again.

Patrick
