LibreOffice Writer- Changed layout for Save As

I am using Linux Mint 18 MATE.

When using Save As in LibreOffice Writer (LOW), I was always presented with the layout as in screenshot #1.

Out of the blue for some unknown reason, I am now presented with the layout in screenshot #2.

Any suggestions on how to get back the original layout for Save As in LOW?

What has caused the change?

The LibreOffice version is the latest one installed via Linux Mint.

The first image certainly reflects the behaviour of my LibreOffice 5.1.6.2 running on Mint 18.1.

Can you paste the results of the following?

dpkg -l '*libreo*' | grep -v '^un'

Thanks. That matches mine almost to a T (I have report-builder and three other styles installed).

I was particularly interested to see if your gtk integration was installed (it is), but thought a look at all the other installed packages might be useful.

Can you have a look at /var/log/apt/history.log and see if anything has been installed or removed since you noticed the change in behaviour that might explain the change?

Any reason you're still running 18 and not 18.1?

hydrurga,

Thanks for that.

I have just done a fresh installation in the hope that the problem would disappear, but no such luck.

Therefore I have no old logs to show you I'm afraid.

The LM 18 USB drive was to hand and I have not put LM 18.1 on another USB drive yet.

That is another job on the "to do" list.

Any other thoughts at all?

Ok, got it (on my system anyway).

In LibreOffice: Tools->Options->General->Open/Save Dialogs: uncheck Use LibreOffice dialogs

Thumbs up

hydrurga,

You are a star!

I have simply no idea how that occurred.

Very many thanks.

Sweet. I always think that, unless there is a good reason against it, it's best to keep as up-to-date as possible within the framework you're using.

Goodness knows why the original LibreOffice setting was changed. Corrupt configuration file? Cat walking on the keyboard? Anyway, glad it's fixed now.

Yes, I have a cat, but he is elderly and unable to jump up to the level of the keyboard!

I suspect corruption arose from something I copied or downloaded.

Recently a .docx document caused my wife's Linux Mint to throw a wobbly and necessitated a fresh installation.

I copied some text from a Google Docs blog recently and when I tried to save it in a new LibreOffice Writer document, I was presented with a large grey box instead of the layout in screenshot #1.

Everything went downhill subsequently.
