LibGL no working after kernel upgrade.

I compiled and installed kernel 2.4.22 in RH9 and whenever I run any apps using libGL it fails to start however there is no problem if I boot to the old kernel. The configuration should be the same as I used config from 2.4.20-8 only applying ACPI patch. How can I get the libGL in 2.4.22 to work?

You might be able to get some error messages like this:
Boot 2.4.22, open a terminal, then start one of the programs that won't run.
Maybe you can get some error messages that give a more specific handle on what the problem is.

Well the strange thing is that the programs will run (superkaramba and k3b to be more specific) however when I start them from terminal window I get the message “libGL failed to initialize”. And as I mentioned before there is no problem when I boot to the old kernel. LibGL installed seems to be the latest version available too.

This is just a guess at a solution:
boot 2.4.22
log in as root and run:
ldconfig
