Lexmark X83
Please will someone help me? I have a Lexmark x83 printer and need it to work on Rh 9, how can I get it to work? I really need it to because I hate going from this comp to my windoze one just to print/scan. So can ne one help me?

I hate to say it, but I don't think it will work. I've been trying for a couple of months with no luck. I even tried to set up a samba share to use it and I couldn't get anything to print out except garble.
I had to ressurect an old print device and hook it up to my linux box. I know that's not the answer you wanted to hear. If you do find an answer, please post it because I would really like to use my X83 with redhat. |
well could you tell me how to setup a host based printer?
|
I just used the Gnome Printer configuration tool that comes with red hat.
|
How do I get to the Gnome printer Configuration tool?
|
click the hat, system tools, print manager.
it should ask you if you want to configure a printer. |
i think linux do not support this printer.

Is it possible to use the X73 driver (which according to linuxprinting.org partially works) for the X83?
I think x73 is just an earlier model of x83 Thanks. |
