ldap cleartext authentication

Hi all,

I installed openLDAP and use webmin to manage users, but as I assume, my question concerns other tools, too.

Webmin uses the /usr/local/ldap.conf file to fetch bind credentials, and the bindpw has to be given cleartext. Any encoded password like {crypt} or {SSHA} doesn't work.

Is there any way to leave the password encoded on my hdd and keep tools like webmin working with an "auto-login" ?

Thanks in advance,
Clemens von Musil

P.S: Webmin uses an own authentication procedure, and an "auto-login" would be acceptable in my case.
