Question SAMBA / LDAP / LAM / PHP / MCRYPT HOWTO?????

Hi guys ('n girlz of course...)

I'm trying to setup LAM (Ldap account manager) to administer my samba users and so on...

However, I am really unfamiliar with ldap, so I wonder if there is anybody here who's willing to help me get started with this?

Here's the thing:

Running RH9, with samba 2.2.7 with very basic smb.conf.... (working fine, BTW)
Installed php, php-ldap and php-mcrypt from theHorde, (only RPM i could find)
Installed ldap.

Installed LAM (lam.sourceforge.net)

First things first, probably: How to get ldap working (with samba, I presume?)

Next, how to get LAM working???

Anyone who is willing to spent some time with me, is greatly appreciated.... Maybe I can help you back with another problem, but this is a bit out of my league... (still a not-so-newbie-and-learning)....

Please, no RFM, or man.... (ok i'm a bit lazy but I did read that ), and can't figure it out the basics....

TIA!

You are not the only one. Just wondering, is there a RH rpm for LAM. I have been trying to install it but keep getting alot of other dependencies rpm that I need to install. It never seems to end.

I know I did not answer your post but will really appreciate it if you could help me.

It feels great to not be the only one.
But I do not want a RPM anymore. I'm trying to go to the edge
and config it all myself... But, since i never done sich before, I could use some help. A lot of info is in the man and on the net, but I am not comfortable yet doing all by myself. I need second opinion, or a helping hand nearby. That's this forum for, isn't it?
