large KDar files on DVD+RW

Several months ago I did a KDar backup and wrote 7 segments to DVD+RWs using K3B. I was using Kubuntu 6.06 at that time. I am now at Kubuntu 6.10 and trying to read those files as I need to copy a couple of things out of the backup. I know that KDar requires all segments available at once so I am trying to copy the segments to my hard drive. My fstab shows my combo CD/DVD reader writer as /dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user auto 0 0. I can easily handle video DVD and other data DVDs, both +R and +RW. For some reason all 7 of my KDar DVDs come up in Konqueror (automount) as "no items, no files, and no folders." Doing a permissions check on the cdrom0 directory it is in my user id and group and shows 3.9Gb as the used data size.

Can anyone think of a way that I can get these segments onto my hard disk? TIA

PS: I have given up on KDar and dar, bought a large USB drive, formatted it to ext3 and I use a script of cp commands for backup. Cleaner, easier, and pretty well fool proof.
