Hey all:

Has anyone else experienced problems with arts? I switched my xmms to use arts so I could have simultaneous sound from multiple programs, and all I got for my efforts was frequently xmms would freeze after going to the next song in my playlist (with ye olde "check that: no other program is blocking the soundcard", etc), switching workspaces caused a lag in sound (I thought maybe my system was running really slow for some reason, despite being 1ghz and having 384mb ram on fluxbox) and even going to a new page in firefox would cause a noticeable sound lag. It took me several days to realize this was arts, since a lag in sound seems so much like a lag in system responsiveness.

Anyway unless anyone has any pointers I guess Im back to using OSS directly.
