[SOLVED] kword 2 can't save as .doc? [SOLVED]

i had to do some research for school and at the time of saving the file i see there is no .doc filter on "save as" option on kword
in slackware 12.2 i had kword and i remember i could save as .doc

i know it sucks i have to save as .doc but in school they only use windows....

1. Copy the content of your kword document as a temporary plain text file.

2. Install OpenOffice.

3. Run OpenOffice Writer, paste the original text, reformat as required.

4. Save as a .doc file.

Conclusion: Kword will not reliably save a .doc file. OpenOffice will reliably save a .doc file. Therefore, always use OpenOffice, and never use kword.

KWord 2.0 is not intended for general use and is a developer release. It is clearly stated in the release announcement, your distribution should not have made it default in any way. Please use KWord 1.6.* for any real work. The KWork 1.6/Abiword doc filter work fine and is reliable. KOffice 2.0 have a lot of missing feature ans is not usable at all for production work.

Though Slackware-13.0 does include KOffice-2.0.2, it is still the 2.0x release series. KOffice states maybe 2.1 - perhaps 2.2 is when they will consider the application to be production ready.

THANK YOU! but i think this could be considered solved, actually i uninstalled koffice 2.0.2 and installed the old 1.6.3
anyway thanks for your answers.
