kwirte problem with nvidia driver install

hi

trying to install nvidia driver on suse 8.2 . have installed the driver, but when i open terminal, do the su - root password thing. i then type in kwrite, and i get message -cannot conect to the xserver. so now i cannot edit the xf86config file. how do i get kwrrite to let me access xserver.

You can open kwrite only in GUI. If you are in text mode try emacs or vi, but they both need a little experience to use... Try their tutorial for five minutes and then you can edit the XF86Config file.

had some stabability problems, and it was my mouse config. the kwrite probem is probably got something to do with the nvidia driver i installed,just a quess. will try your suggestion and see what happens. later
