Question KsCD Sound problem

Hello to you all,
I have a little question, my KsCD program that is supposed to play audio CDs, is playing CD but with no sound (after my lame stupid windows using friend of mine pressed smth);
Then i checked XMMS and it played fine (with the music).

So, would you be kind please to tell me what should i do in order to fix it (- the KsCD) ?

ps: Mandrake 9.2 ; KDE 3.1

My guess would be that you don't have a little cord connected from your CD/DVD-rom to the sound card. That cord is the one responsible for playing Audio CD's. XMMS plays because the newer versions of it allow digital audio extraction. So, the only thing you can do is:

1 - Buy that cord and plug it
2 - Stick with XMMS for Audio disks

...

you could try checking your volume levels with alsamixer, maybe he muted them somehow.
