Krusader and 7zip

Krusader (v1.90.0 in Gnome) is awfully slooooow when entering .7z archive; how to solve it?

frankbell 01-28-2011 10:59 PM

How about when it enters another archive, such as *.tar.gz?

A baseline would be helpful. It could be a *.7z thing.

also if it is a very large file 1 or 2 or 3+ Gig it WILL be slow no matter what archive format

qrange 01-29-2011 04:44 AM

no, all other archives are ok. its slow even with not very large files.
same problem on stable and testing Debian.

reddazz 01-29-2011 07:26 AM

Have you tried using 7za on the command line or the p7zip GUI app?

almatic 01-29-2011 07:54 AM

I have tried it (using debian/gnome) on my e-mail backups, which are around 700mb and packed with 7z. It is very fast but krusader version is 2.3.0-beta1. Maybe try a newer krusader version.

qrange 01-29-2011 11:11 AM

um, I was wrong, it seems to work fine now on Debian testing.
I could swear it was slow, maybe one of recent updates fixed it.
I'll try later on stable.

qrange 01-31-2011 01:50 AM

the problem is still there on debian stable. entering 150Mb 7z archive takes more than a minute. it doesn't matter if the archive is solid or not.

7z version is 4.58 beta
krusader 1.9
kde 3.5.1
gnome 2.22.3
