kppp


i would like to allow non root users to dial up with kpp without typeing the root password. how can i accomplish this.

any suggestions are welcomed

You can do it by changing the the file premission for kppp. From the terminal you can use the chown command to change the ownership, and chmod changes the permissions (see the man pages for particulars). Ownership and permissions can also be changed from the KDE or Gnome file managers.

Since I do not use RH I do not know WHERE it is, BUT I did run across someone who fixed this by changing the kppp symlink to point to the actual kppp executable instead of the console-helper app that redhat seems to throw in there, which in turn makes it ask for root pass. everytime. That's where you'll wanna look into things.
