konqueror (kde) folder association - please help :-)

After setting xmms to handle folders in konqueror, resulting in not being able to navigate, i removed the xmms from the association, but konqueror can not handle anymore.

Anyone an idea how to resolve this very funny issue, so that I can navigate again?

or an idea how to completley remove this scum from my system (god - why doesn't gnome function on my louzy Suse9.1 ?)

Cheers,
Ron

hi,

i just need to clarify what your problem is. as i think i've understood, you've set up konqueror so that XMMS handles certain multimedia files - eg mp3? but then you couldn't navigate - what was the nature of the problem?

as for gnome and suse - yes, i found that gnome was broken with suse 9.0....

not quite...

I right-clicked a directory. From the context menu I chose "open with..." and entered in the text box on the top, "xmms", checked the "remember..." checkbox on the bottom and pressed ok.

hmm...

then, every time I clicked a folder in Konqueror, xmms got a new playlist. cool.

then I entered the konqueror settings, chose file-types on the left, and on the group inodes looked at "folder": there was xmms on the top and konquerer benieth.

So I changed the places.

Then I got a great message every time i click a folder:
Quote:
There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated Konqueror with inode/directory, but it can't handle this file type.
I removed konqueror, added it again aso. nothing helps. It does not mutter if i choose a folder on the tree or not - this message just keeps coming up.

------------------------------------------------

While writing this I tried something and it workd -

went to the second tab and chose the embedded viewer option.

Now is all ok...

cheers,
Ron
