Konqueror default view mode

I know this probably seems really stupid, but I am starting to get annoyed that when ever I open konqueror file browser it defaults the view mode to 'icon view'. I have searched everywhere in KDE to find how to change the default view mode to 'details view' but I have had no luck. I'm getting really tired of having to change it every time I open my home directory.

Is there anyway to set the default view?

Thanks.

(btw, I'm running Slack 9.1 with KDE 3.1.4 if you need to know this)

"Is there anyway to set the default view?"

Yes. You can save as many different konqueror "looks" as you want.

First set up konqueror to look exactly the way that you want it. Then click on Settings and click on Save View Profile "some name". This will display a small window that asks you what name to save it under. Save it under a name that is not already in the list, say zarathustra.

Then change the desktop icon or the menu entry that you use to start konqueror to issue the following command:

kfmclient openProfile zarathustra
