Knoppix Debian RPM can't find DB3
I'm using Knoppix 3.2 (installed with the install script) and my RPM can't seem to find DB3. I have no clue if it's installed or not, but in KPackage it shows libdb3 as being installed, and if I try to uninstall it to reinstall it, it gives me a big list of things that are going to be removed, nearly all of which look very important. Does anyone know where I can get DB3 so RPM will work? I can't install RPM's or init/rebuild the RPM database, and almost nothing in KPackage works.

This may be a silly question, but as
which user are you trying to run rpm? What error messages do you get? And since Knoppix is debian-based, why don't use apt but rpm in the first place? Cheers, Tink |
Well, reading around on the forums I discovered alien, and I now use that to convert my RPM's to DEB's. The only problem is that KPackage doesn't work. I just get 'file not found' errors when I try to install a package from the APT update list.
