kmess intallation
The saga continues.....
Hey guys I am running Mandrake 9.1 in kde 3.1 mode, does anyone have installation instructions for Kmess-1.2.1.ta.gz files. I installed it the first time but the GUI looked querky, no emoticons, screen name emot.. were replaced by black boxes, something to do with the configuration, i tried ./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3, so the black boxes would get taken care of but it didn't seem to work. Plus the kmess icon cannot be used for the short-cut, but thats not really important as at now. Anyone got kde 3.1 on mandrake 9.1 with install instructions. thanks :newbie: :Pengy: |
me too r facing the same problem and can't know what is need for the congiufe
i can't understand this sentence wriiten in the install file: n order for KMess to work properly, it must be configured with your KDE3 directory. In order to do this using Mandrake 8.2, for instance, configure with: ./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3 I'm told that with RedHat 7.2 and KDE3 installed from rpms, it should be ./configure --prefix=/usr Basically, we're talking about the parent directory of /share/apps/k~bunch of apps~ |
