I recently updated my Suse Linux using apt-get and whenever I want to start kmail or knode, there's a strange message popping up in the console:
kmail: error while loading shared libraries: /opt/kde3/lib/libkdepim.so.1: undefined symbol: _ZN9KLineEdit16contextMenuEventEP17QContextMenuEvent

Anybody knows what's going on here?
Do I need to update something in particular?

I know this is an old thread, but I stumbled upon a problem that is somewhat similar to this. I upgraded recently my KDE and some of the Configure panels in Konqueror were not functional, and a message was displayed informing me there was an error when loading kcm_kio.so: Undefined symbol (...). The symbol was something like the one above (i.e, long and not too meaningfull).

I chose to recompile the kcm_kio lib (as I had the "unclean" sources still at hand) and reinstalled them at no effect. After I restarted KDE, the message was gone and the modules loaded just fine.

It may or may not work in other cases. Hope this helps.
