kmail - takes too long to retrieve a mail from a long thread (imap)

Hi!

I'm using kmail to handle my exchange-based mail. I use imap as the transport means. I have noticed that if the thread is short, mails are shown without much hassle but if the thread has gone on for some, say, 10 mails, displaying a mail takes forever. Is there a way to avoid this?

I'm still on kubuntu 13.04 (updated)

Question is if this is a client or a server side problem (debugging, logs)?..
