kmail, kontact & thunderbird

Before I start this arduous task perhaps I can get some pointers or suggestions. I have an XP/Mandrake2006 dual boot. I also have 2 logins on the XP side. On XP I use Thunderbird and both logins point to the same mail folder.
Now I want to use kmail because it is incorporated into kontact. Is there a way to get kmail pointing to the Thunderbird mail folder on the XP side so I can get to my mail no matter where or how I'm logged in or does anyone have any suggestions for another mail/PIM client that would do this?
Thanks for any suggestions .
Ogee

I'm not sure if you could point your KMail profile to use the Thunderbird mail files as I don't know the structures would match up, but you could import your Thunderbird profile into KMail - http://dot.kde.org/1089351902/1089579303/ . Just out of interest, why are you trying to maintain multiple logins pointing to the same profile and also, what format is you're Windows partition in as you may not be physically able to write mails back to it from Linux anyways?

re: kmail,kontact and thunderbird

fouldsy,
I have 2 login accounts on the Win side with one being a general user account and one with some admin rights on the corp. network. It just makes it a lot easier to have access to my mail account if I don't have to log out of one account and log into the other to get some information and then log back into the other account to use it. I'm basically lazy that way :-)
Since I now dual boot I thought it would be nice to be able to get to my mail from Mandrake 2006. In the past I have used Mozilla on both sides with them pointing to the same mail folder and it worked well. Now I would like to use kmail for the main reason it is incorporated into the Kontact PIM suite. If I could find another mail client that worked within a good PIM I would investigate that.
Thanks for the assist.
Ogee
