You should answer 'yes' to the 'rm -r k*' questions.

The reason why the system is asking you for confirmation is just because there's an alias to the rm command defined inside /etc/bashrc which tells the system something like "when the user ask me to "deltree" a directory, ask for confirmation", so if you answer 'no', then you are not erasing anything inside tmp, which was the test I suggested.

OK! I did the rm -r k* thing. Same problem. Unless someone has an idea what to do, I just won't have the "send as Email" option in OpenOffice. Also, I just don't understand why KMail won't work. It doesn't make sense.
