kino - slow playback of captured video...

Hi,

Since the Kino forum is next to impossible to log into I may as well post this here.

I used dvgrad to capture a bit of video (about 20 minutes). Using XINE, the video bit plays back beautifully at normal speed.

When I bring the video bit into Kino and using Edit, play back the video, it plays back very slowly. about 25 % slower than when I play the bit with XINE I estimate.

Anyone experience this?

Any solutions?

thanks
Nick

Is this an Athlon64 box by any chance?

If so, did you install from source or a binary package?

Sorry, can't help then. There is a similar problem with Athlon64s and libdv hat can be fixed by compiling with different options.

Try compiling the most recent version (0.7.6) kino from source. It might help. Kino's edit uses a lot more resources than xine or mplayer - a 600MHz CPU may not be enough, although adding memory might help. Do you have DMA turned on for your hard drives?

I can validate this. Playback with Kino does need rather more power than with xine.

I am using T-Bird 1,4GHZ and Kino 0.7.6.

@600 MHZ it is not possible to listen to the audio stream because it is distorted and not smooth
