kickstart installation

Hello All,
I am trying to install using kickstart. I have already created and ks.cfg file and copied it to my boot floppy. I also modified the sysklinux file to look like this:
default ks
prompt 0
label ks
kernel vmlinuz
append ks=floppy initrd=initrd.img

However, when i try to install I get the following error:

VFS:Cannot open root device ""or 08:41
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernal panic:VFS:Unable to mount root fs on 08:41

ANy ideas on what the problem might be?

I can't help you but I got a similar error once with damaged CDs. Later the installation when ok with different CDs and the very same ks.cfg in the very same floppy.

I have never gotten the system to kickstart automatically.

I just built the "ks=floppy" into my install instructions. I suspect the directive is ACTUALLY handled by anaconda, the redhat installer, and not actually passed to the kernel.
