Keyboard locked when mouse is unplugged

Hello everybody,

Im running RH8 with 2.4-22
PS/2 mouse
PS/2 Keyboard
Touchscreen plugged in ttyS1.

Im working for a bio-medical company. we are building software to help the orthopedic surgeons to place implants on patients. We are using a touchescreen to operate the soft. There is no keybard or mouse connected to the machine.

But sometiimes, we need to install licences on the soft or do maintenance on it, To do that, we only need a keyboard and no mouse. BUT my bosses want to have the mouse driver loaded when X starts.

The problem is when i boot the machine with only the keyboard plugged in the PS/2 port, the keyboard is locked when X starts. (init 5() but it workl fine in Init3. My guess it that X try to load a mouse, that is not connected to the system, and it freezes..

Here is my XFCOnfig file.

Is there a way to have only a keyboard connected and being able to use it in X when there is a mouse config in XfF86Config?

PS: Im proud that a BioMeic company such as ours is operating patients with Linux
