Question Keyboar Layout

We in Latin America have a specific keyboard layout. It is not the ES (Spanish) layout, in windows is called Latin-America. Using the ES is close, but some keys get lost.

My Q is, how can i remap the keyboard layout in (X, GNOME, KDE?) to match my keyboard?

If i can do it, how can i suggest to add it as an standard layout in the linux distributions.

Thanx for any help.

For X you can use xmodmap and modify the keyboard layout to fit your needs.

In my MDK interesting file is /etc/sysconfig/keyboard.
Keymaps are located in /usr/lib/kbd/keymaps/. In my system there are many different keymaps. You may browse them, choose the best one and modify it.
