Kernelversions
Hello,
long time ago I installed SuSE 7.1. As well a winmodem, that worked well. - unfortunately I don' kn ow any more how I did it :-( After a diskcrash I'm on my way to rebuild the system. What I know is : 1. install SuSE 7.1 2. cp /boot/vmlinuz24.version.h /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h 3. cp /boot/vmlinuz24.autoconf.h usr/src/linux/include/linux/autoconf.h 4. compile module : rpm --rebuild module_2.4.0.src.rpm 5. install module : rpm -i module_2.4.0.i386.rpm 6. load module ./load_module 7. configure modem with yast2 now every thin goes right until point 5. If I load the module I get the respond from the system the module is for kernel 2.4.0 and actual kernel is 2.4.0-4GB Is any bod able to tell me how I got the modem to work last yaer ?? best regards |
I can't say I do know exactly how SuSE likes things or anything about YAST2 but I am sure that if you go here: http://www.linmodems.org
Then you will have a good starting point. |
