kernel update through rpmdrake
I went to this website http://homepage.swissonline.ch/mdk10rc1_review/ which said you can update a kernel through rpmdrake. or hints at it.
So I used his address to put into mandrake's software media manager and it turned out to be pretty damn easy. After a little tuning the sound and video works properly and it's running faster with 2.6.3-4 So no real complaints other than how come when I was looking for ways to update my kernel from the standard kernel that comes with mandrake 9.2. I never read anything about this method. I just came across this website by accident. A real question though.. when i shut down and it shows all the modules shutting down I see an intensily magnified view so I can only see the first couple letters to the left. It still shuts down but this means that I can't exit x and continue using the computer. Nvidia geforce 4 4200 newest drivers installed I also had to shut down artsd because it slows down my computer and sound works without it. |
