is there a way to take a kernel package you downloaded from kernel.org and configure it to match the same settings as the kernel you are currently using? i'd like to do this so that I can just make quick changes instead of going through the entire setup.
yes, usually distro's like mandrake will kindly include the config of the current kernel in /boot/config-2.4.26-mdk or something similar. when you go into "make xconfig" in the kernel setup, browse to that file and load it.
