Kernel Patching

I have posted about this several times and never get a response so I am not really counting on anything here. But this is what happens when I try to apply the Alan Cox patch.

-----------------begin---------------------->
Tiamat:/usr/src/linux-2.4.22-ac4# patch -p0 < patch-2.4.22-ac4
can't find file to patch at input line 4
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:
--------------------------
|diff -u --new-file --recursive --exclude-from /usr/src/exclude linux.vanilla/arch/alpha/kernel/entry.S linux.22-ac4/arch/alpha/kernel/entry.S
|--- linux.vanilla/arch/alpha/kernel/entry.S 2003-06-14 00:11:26.000000000 +0100
|+++ linux.22-ac4/arch/alpha/kernel/entry.S 2003-06-29 16:10:35.000000000 +0100
--------------------------
File to patch:
--------------------end------------------->

What am I doing wrong?

did you try a different option for -p?

Like -p1?

Cheers,
Tink
