kernel panic help needed

Hi,
I've just compiled a new kernel and I get a kernel panic on rebooting.
The message i get it is:
Quote:
no init found. try passing init = option to kernel
can someone explain to me what i have to do to get this kernel to boot.
Please bear in mind I'm a newbie.
thx

Ludwig

The way I handle this is to build intial ram disk support into my kernels. otherwise you have to have a seperate ram disk boot image.

often this is from not compiling support for the filesystem
you are using into the kernel, or the kernel lacking other
options that doesn't allow it to mount the filesystem.
