kernel panic


VFS: unable to mount root on fs 03:42
i restarted the computer by clicking alt+ctrl+del, when the linux started, this was what i got. how can i fix it without reinstalling my slackware?

I think you forgot to compile the right file system in your kernel. Are you using reiser or ext3?

neither of them.. i'm using ext2
i've installed slackware again..! why is he so sensitive? i just havn't shut him down right only once and he screws up. why are you a cry-baby????

Well, filesystems tend to screw up when the computer is improperly shut down. You could have "rescued" it by using a boot disk (heck, even DemoLinux would do) and running fsck on your ext2 partition(s).
