kernel modules


how would one add an outside module to the kernel? I am trying to add exaudio.o to the kernel (http://www.cs.umass.edu/~cochran/). Do i need to recompile the kernel? or what is the normal process to do this?

Well, the link you posted has the answer in the first page, under
the header "Installation".

i was under the impression that i would have to recompile the kernel...is that all that i have to do? also just trying out the commands mandrake 9 tells me there is no such thing as insmod
