Hi,
I m porting the 2.6 kernel to the Encore M3 board (it has the AU1500 MIPS processor on it), which is already supported in the 2.4 Linux kernel.
The serial console is up and running, however, the execution just stops after giving out this message on the log buffer:
Quote:
Sending BOOTP requests
eth0: link down
eth0: link up
eth0: going to full duplex
|
i give the following boot arguments to the bootloader (YAMON):
Quote:
go . nfsroot=/tftpboot/carlos/mips ip=$ipad root=/dev/nfs
|
value of ipad is <client ip>:<server ip>
The problem is this: I m not sure if the server, is running the bootp or the dhcp protocols..the ps -e does not reveal any processes related to either of these protocols and the /etc directory only contains dhcp client programs..
Is there a way of specifying boot arguments so that the kernel will get its ip address from a dhcp server that is different from the nfs server?
