Kernel can't fit into memory on GRUB
I installed RH 8.0 on my PC, and use GRUB Loader for a dual boot with Win XP and use GRUB. When I boot my PC with RH 8.0, they can't execute kernel. Show "Error : can't fit into memory" message.
Why's that ?????? |
Hi,
I've heard that sometimes the physical amount of RAM is misread so you have to specify the amount at boot time, I guess it has to do with the error message, maybe it thinks you don't have enough RAM...This is a rough guess. By the way, Have you recompiled the kernel?? You should know that if you include many features in the kernel it grows huge. Bye |
I have 256MB physical RAM and using 925MB space on my hdd for swap disk. Are they still not enough ?
Note : I can boot RH 8.0 from boot floppy |
