Kernel boot problems

Hello everyone,

I just recompiled my own custon kernel. Everything was going fine. The boot images and files all compiled perfectly. Now when i try and boot into my custon kernel it just comes up to this blank screen with an "X" as the pointer.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated

You mean a crosshatch pattern with a big black X? If so that's X without anything running in it, what normally comes up? GDM? KDM?

Well nothing comes up. Sorry for the confusion. Should i recompile all of the images?
