Just so everyone knows :
I was asking , among other things, if it was safe to use kernels not in Debian's repository.... Which it of course is. As you might figure, my experience with linux so far is not with compiling kernels..
I would also be very glad if someone could answer this :
I succesfully compiled kernel 2.6.14.2 as a debian package and installed it. I get kernel panic during boot. In /boot, my default kernel has a initrd-rd-image and the new one don't... any idea ? I followed a howto on
