Hi,
(Being tried on slackware 10).
Does anyone know how to properly set up the X Window server "kdrive" at all? (
http://www.pps.jussieu.fr/~jch/software/kdrive.html ) . I have tried using the program xinit with this server but I am not sure if I am doing things correctly -- the program xinit needed lots of libraries, some were quite large which almost seems to negate the benefits of using a small x server. Am I just doing it all wrong? Is there something smaller then "xinit"?
I tried also doing something like "Xvesa -x /usr/X11R6/bin/xclock" ( to try to run the 'xclock' program as a test; the kdrive program is actually called 'Xvesa') but it did nothing, displaying an empty X window display screen with an "X" x-window cursor.
I found I had to copy the following files before simple programs would work:
libX11.so.6
libXft.so.2
libfontconfig.so.1
libXrender.so.1
libXaw.so.7
libXmu.so.6
libXt.so.6
libSM.so.6
libICE.so.6
libXpm.so.4
libXext.so.6
libXmuu.so.1
libXfont.so.1
plus xinit, xterm and xauth.
Also I found fvwm95 would not run, crashing with problems with fonts

.
(NB, "kdrive" does not use any config files).
Thanks,
slothpuck.
