KDM+Fingerprint reader

Hi

I've been using the incorporated fingerprint reader on my Thinkpad R60 laptop. So far I've managed to successfully use fingerprint scanning to login and and unlock a locked session.

I followed the instructions at http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to...erprint_reader but have not been able to get the kdm login or anything kde related to use the popup gui for fingerprint scanning.

I'm using Kubuntu and this can be really frustrating especially when trying to run something with kdesu and nothing happens (I assume because pam is trying to use the fingerprint reader but is unable to load the popup gui???).

Any suggestions as to how I can overcome this problem?

Can you try to run the popup gui from the command line and read any errors?
